What is Supervision?
Supervision is a formal arrangement for Counsellors / Psychotherapists and Psychologists to discuss their work regularly with someone who is experienced as a practitioner in Counselling / Psychotherapy/ Psychology and Supervision.
The rationale for attendance at supervision is to work together to ensure and develop the efficacy of the Counsellor / Client relationship. Supervision is a process to maintain adequate standards of Counsellor / Psychologist and a method of consultancy to widen the horizons of the practitioner.
Why Supervision?
Supervision is seen as a vital element to the process and ongoing maintenance of a Counsellor / Psychologist’s competency and continued accreditation for Members with their relevant accreditation bodies. Regular Supervision monitors the work with their Clients to ensure that the standard of their work meets the criteria and standards and Code of Ethics and Practice for Members with their relevant accreditation bodies.
